We scheduled a girl's weekend in Chicago in March. We have never been there before. I'm wanting to know what are the "must sees" before we leave. We would kinda like to have a plan before we go.

Their is a pier/boardwalk with great food and fun.
Eat the pizza....it was awesome
Catch a show...we saw the Blue Man Group - which was fun
Over the weekend their was a street festival that we didn't even know about but walked into it on our way back to our hotel.

- shop on Michigan Ave
- get Garrett's popcorn
- our museums are fantastic and they are near each other
- the theatre district is wonderful
- if you are using a car, then go to diffferent neighborhoods (Andersonville, Lincoln Park, Hyde Park, Greektown, Chinatown)
- take a ride on the EL (elevated train)
- there are amazing restaurants

Michigan ave shopping is a must! The nice part is that the stores there are open until 9 or 10 most nights. Pizzaria Uno is a must. Plan on waiting for an hour for your pizza and try to go at an off time because the wait to get in can be ridiculous. Try to go early morning or late afternoon, before dinner. Ed Debvics is another fun place to eat/go. The waiters/waitresses sing and dance and are rude (on purpose)...lots of fun. Sheds aquarium is fun and is right by the pier and by the lakeshore so you can see both at the same time. There is an awesome purse store in Lincoln Park (Lily somethings...sorry can't remember the name). You can design your own purses that they will then make and ship to you so you can always remember your girls weekend. Plus Lincoln Park is an awesome place to walk around and see the cool stores and beautiful stores! Have fun and don't get BLOWN away!

I love Chicago, and miss my home city.

• Shop on Michigan Avenue
• Popcorn at Garrett's
• I prefer Lou Malnati's to Pizzeria Uno but both are great
• At least one museum, there are four great ones. The Shedd is the aquarium and it is located next to the Field Museum of Natural History. The Art Institute of Chicago and The Science and Industry are the other two. The Science and Industry museum is the furthest south out of the downtown area, but its just a short drive.
• I would skip Navy Pier in March due to weather, and there isn't that much to see and do there
• Take a Wendella boat ride/tour to see the architecture of the city
• Go to the top of the old Sear's Tower especially if its a clear day

Weather is volatile in March in Chicago, one day it will be warm sunny and 70 degrees or more; the next day could be raining, cold, and then change to ice and snow. Check the weather, and pack just before you leave. Have fun!!

As a Chicago native these are my must sees:

• shopping on Michigan Avenue
• Millenium Park
• eating deep dish pizza from Giordanos
• Navy Pier is kitchy and touristy but you may want to go on the ferris wheel
• eat a chicago style hot dog from a vendor

We thought the Shedd Aquarium was a bust, but the Art Institute was wonderful. And the planetarium had a good show, if you enjoy that. I'll admit I had a great time at the American Girl Doll store, which was just off Michigan Avenue. I don't know if it's still there. The top of the Sears Tower was worth a visit. We also took a river tour of Chicago Architecture and enjoyed it a lot. I don't know if you'll want to do that in March, though. It's a great city for walking, with the parks and water front and all.
There are a lot of ethnic restaurants; we ate Moroccan and Greek, among others. It was wonderful, and I'd love to go back.
