Does anyone have a creative way to hang a word wall? I have mine on cabinets but not all of the letters fit and I need it to be more uniform. Has anyone seen or done a word wall that is creative and nice to look at?

When I taught second grade I did index cards on binder rings hanging from command hooks under the chalkboard. When kids needed a word, they went and grabbed the ring for the right letter. Sometimes they would ask me which letter, but overall it was successful, space saving, and neat.
You could also do file folders in a crate on a counter with a folder for each letter.

I used to hang a large piece of felt that I bought at the fabric store. Then my words were laminated and had a little piece of the hard side of Velcro on the back. They could be taken off and then put back up easily. I used a large index card organizer to store the words before they made it up on the wall.

I hate word walls because I don't think they're effective for my students. I do hang posters with vocabulary words that are generated with a topic or subject we're studying. Also, I give kids have their own paper dictionaries with some words already there and lines for them to add their own.

When I had to have one, I stuck up the letters of the alphabet (ellison cutter) on my large whiteboard on the side of the room. I wrote words underneath which could be changed easily.
