I’ve been a paraprofessional for the past few years I’m a self contained classroom and decided to get my sped endorsement last year. I ended up getting hired in my district (different school) for a resource position. I was excited at first, but I’m nervous about having 15 students on my caseload and working with 2 different teams of gen ed teachers. Everyone has been really nice, but I just can’t shake this feeling of anxiety. The anxiety has overtaken me and I can’t eat or sleep. I love kids, but maybe I made the wrong decision. Anyone else ever feel this way?

Sounds very typical to me!

You have to realize the experience you have as a para is a huge plus! So many new teachers just have student teaching experience and don't really know what the day to day is like.
