Hello! I've just been hired as an inclusion teacher for 3rd/4th grade in Florida, working through an alternative certification program (my degree is psychology, my background is journalism, and I've passed the ESE subject area test). I'm thrilled to have the opportunity, but after three days on the job, I'm struggling to find my footing. Any advice from someone in a similar position would be greatly appreciated -- I'm looking for resources, advice, a reassuring word or two! I'm fortunate to have a supportive staff, but being that I've started mid-year, they've all got their own problems to tackle, and I feel a bit like I'm on my own. I've discovered that as straightforward as inclusion appeared to be, there's quite a lot of gray area. Words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.
