Hi... I am a college senior interiview for a teaching fellows position and I have to come up with a 5 minute lesson on what ever area from k-12 I want and I just have to have a means of measure and a goal. I was thinking about doing personification. Do you think this is an approachable subject? I am teaching this to other people who will be interviewing for the position as well.

Personification is a good plan. It's easy to fit into the timeframe you've been given. Tell them you will have them either identify personification in examples you provide, or you will have them write their own examples. You should model it first for the class (2 minutes) and then have small groups do it (2 minutes) and then share (probably more than one minute, but close). For excellent examples of personification, look for the poetry book Hailstones and Halibut Bones.
