Plan Book Ideas for Student Teaching

Today we learned about different types of planning that teachers use. Right now, I am required to use an extended lesson plan format, however next year when I will be student teaching we will be able to choose a modified type of planning and will also be able to choose how I want to keep my plans organized. What type of plan book/planning do you use? Do you think that a block plan book or plan book with dividers and lined paper works better? Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

Thanks!

Keep doing the extended lesson plan formats.
Also, keep 'summaries' in a planbook. If you teach elementary I suggest one with an area for each subject on each day of the week.
If you teach middle school/high school, a looser one would be good, such as so many blank blocks per day.

For myself, I kept a binder with the pages such as this: http://www.teachervision.fen.com/new...tml?detoured=1

This is the form I used (in elementary s.t.). I kept them punched and in a binder so that it was a quick reference, but also used extended lesson plans. Again, it just helped me along until I felt I could do it without them. Then I switched completely to the binder probably about halfway through.

I agree with the previous post. I am still required to use the extended lesson plan, but I think that I will continue to use them. I feel like I will be more prepared if I do the extended lesson plan rather than just a synopsis of a lesson. I will be forced to think of all materials and anything I would need.

I would agree with the previous post to use both the extended lesson plan and the block lesson or the form she gave. I really like that form. Again, I think the extended plan is best for students to help plan every detail of the lesson, but eventually move onto just the form when these details are automatically considered.
