Target Find

Lap desks, $2.50. I bought 5 for writing priviledges. I also got a wooden calendar that I am going to hang on the board, I will make it a kid's job to change it every day. ( I am terrible about changing the calendar every month, so now my poor kids will know what the date is! )

Thanks for the Target update. Where will you be storing the lap desks? Storage is my main problem in my classroom.

I have a calendar and also write the date the "long way" and the "short way" (August 7, 2010 = long way and 8/7/10 = short way) on the blackboard daily. Every once in a while I forget to change the date and the students love telling me I have it wrong. I LOVE when they notice "mistakes" I may have made. Instead of getting embarrassed it lets me know that they are paying attention and noticing things, even the routine things. I take these as confirmations that they are learning.

Milyn, I do the same thing!!

MaryMac, thx for posting this, I guess. You know I'll have to run over to Target to check it out, and that's like shopping in a black hole. I go in to get a certain thing, and find 7 or 8 more things I didn't even know I needed!

I have a long counter top with computers on top and there is a lot of storage space underneath. I think I will put them a big storage tub under there.

MaryMacYou have peeked my interest. Where do I find the Lap desks at Target? Are they in the $1.00 section? Are they plastic? They sound like they would be fun for students to use during WW.

I bought two of the lap desks too, I was a little worried because the vinyl tops did not look to sturdy, but my DH said if they don't last he can attach shower board to the tops and they will be lap dry erase boards as well...isn't he clever??

I just checked on the Target website and the cheapest lap desks they had were listed for $9.00!

Does the price vary from store to store?

Can you post a link to the type you bought?

They were up front in the dollar bin area. They are a little flimsy, but for $2.50, I couldn't resist.
