Have any of you ever shown ET to elementary kids? I wanted to have them do a creative writing assignment on the harvest moon and the one in E.T. is a perfect example. I'm just not sure if the movie is appropriate for 7 or 8 year olds. It is PG so I would need parental permission first. I wanted to check with my PT freinds first before I pursued it. TIA

It's "old" PG

This movie came out befoer the addition of PG-13, abd would probably have been rated PG-13 due to scary scenes, and some language from what I can remember.

It's also a very l-o-n-g movie.

The language in E.T. is horrible. So sad, because it was a really good movie other than that. I hate it when movie makers have kids use horrible language to make money.

It has been so long since I watched the movie I had forgotten all of the negative things that might bother second and third graders.

I agree with you linda2671 I hate that they put foul language in movies because they think they will sell better. There are so many books made into movies we could use in school if not for that

Thanks Tatum for the website that ranks the movies and explains all about it. I bookmarked it for furture reference
