Idea for good book about empathy?

Does anyone have any ideas for good books where the characters or storyline are about having/showing empathy? I would like to have the whole class read one together. 3rd or 4th grade level. Thanks!

Don't know if this is what you are looking for, but I googled books about empathy for kids and this is the first link that seemed good.

We read this book this year. It's about a grasshopper who has a bum wing and lots of bullying between the insects. Ultimately they show empathy and figure out that bullying isn't the right thing!

The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes might be a good choice.

What about the Rainbow Fish? The Rainbow Fish has beautiful scales and doesn't want to share them w/ anyone, he also has no friends. Eventually he learns if he shares some of his lovely scales w/ others he will have friends and he won't miss them too much.

This book should be very easy to find at the library.

Best wishes!
