First year in 4th grade and I have a few questions.
First what is a great read aloud to start the year?
Secondly, what are your spelling procedures for the week?

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing is what I usually start out the year with. My spelling procedure is probably not the best but works for me...
Monday-pretest, self correct and write misspelled words 3x each
Tuesday and Wednesday-workbook pages
Thursday-review game such as Sparkle or Heads Up, Spell Up
Friday-Test

zdebgo--can you explain this game? I've used Sparkle but have never heard of the other game. Sounds good.

How is this game played? We do Sparkle, but I have not heard of the Heads UP, Spell Up.
