My “This Is Us” scary moment

This reminded me of This Is Us.
I was making a small dinner to take by my son and DIL. Just some barbecue shredded crockpot chicken. I put everything in the crockpot, plugged it in and turned it on, then……POP. Yikes it made a loud noise and I got a small shock. Just glad it happened at the beginning when I was home.

I bet that was scary. After that episode of This Is Us if I leave the house while cooking in my crock pot I turn it off and unplug while am gone.

For some reason, my mind immediately went to that time when there was an intruder in Randal's house as the "scary moment." I'm sure glad it wasn't that!

Yikes!!
20 years ago a friend of mine told methat her defective crockpot burned her house down. I have always been paranoid about leaving them on or even plugged in if i am not nearby.
And then… This is Us….

That would scare me. It really defeats one of the best things about slow cookers, though, when you feel that you can't leave them on when you're away from your house.
