Where are all the boys?

I just got my class list yesterday and I have 16 girls and only 7 boys. My class has always been evenly divided. Don't know what happened this year. Out of the 16 girls, 8 of them have attitudes, have been retained and have severe behavior issues. I don't know how I am going to make it this year.

You don't want it the other way I had 16 boys and 7 girls last year and it was a very difficult year because boys so think all our lessons should be up and moving. I hope it is more even this year.

Boys vs girls

If I had to pick I would choose to have more boys. Their issue are usually quicker to solve. Girls are on the other hand not so much.
Boy issues are usually impulsive, physical and silly. Girls issues are far too often emotional bullying and social warfare. Give me a group of potty humor eraser flicking boys any day.

Sorry to hear about your gender imbalance. Hopefully your 7 boys and other 8 girls are terrific and maybe a few of the naughty girls have grown up a bit over the summer.

they are all at my school. I have a ridiculous number of boys in my classes this year.

After a week of school, I would have to say that my best classes are the two that are all girls and the one that is all boys. The other three classes....I'm about to lose my mind with them.

Last year I had 12 boys and 6 girls.

This year I have 11 boys and 5 girls.

Last year was very difficult for the girls in my room. They were very cliquey(Sp?) and there were a lot of tiffs.

I have 13 Girls and 5 boys so far, now the first day is this Monday so I may get a few more. But, I always prefer to be boy heavy, I just seem to connect with them better and teach to their style more...which is odd as the mother of two girls!

I think I've got some of your boys. Have only 6 girls and 12 boys! If possible, I'd like some of the girls back - I'll send you some boys. My pickings - of course! :-)

I have a very girl heavy class too this year. Started out with 13 girls and 7 boys, and then got 10 new students last week. So now I have 19 girls and 11 boys. All in a tiny room where we can barely walk around...oh it's gonna be a great year!
