Storage Idea Needed
Old 10-27-2010, 06:18 PM

Clip to ScrapBook #1

We have gotten "clickers" and went to a training today. It was recommended that we store the clickers in something like one of those hanging clear shoe storage things...so that you can just glance to see if all of them have been turned back in, and if not, what number is missing...

I am very anal (), and I will not be able to tolerate something that small in those big pockets. They are like tiny remotes!

Do you have any ideas?

Oriental Trading was selling clear pocket charts the size of postcards. I think that might work for you.

I just answered my own question, so if anybody else is looking for something that might work, try this....

Now I just need to buy one!

Calculator pocket chart

It's what I use for my e-instruction set. It's super easy for my 2nd graders to put the responders away, because it already has the corresponding numbers on it.

Fishing tackle box or bead box?

Not sure what 'tiny' means, but as you describe the clickers I'm envisioning something about 2x2" or maybe 2x3". I was wondering if a tackle box with adjustable dividers might be more compact. You could label the bottom of each section with a number and have the remotes numbered as well. When it's time to store them, students put the remote in the proper numbered section.

Another idea, similarly, might work with a large storage box for beads, again, with adjustable dividers so you can make the sections the size you want.

Not knowing the size of the remotes, I'm only guessing at what might work.

Thanks for the replies....
I went to Oriental Trading and all I saw was file folder size pocket charts...

Kirbyjack, I had just found the calculator storage chart....I plan on getting one ASAP! Thanks for confirming that it will work! (Also, thanks for giving me a better name to use...responders....I hate saying "clickers!")

& Risa...
They are probably about 1 1/2 inches by 5 inches????
I also like the idea of an adjustable box, especially since I do not have any more wall space....I'll have to check into that, too!

I saw a hanging jewelry organizer at Steinmart's that has small clear plastic pockets that would be the perfect size.

Now my responders are also in a nice case that protects them. It is the case that came with the set. It's easy for students to see the numbers, and when I don't have wall/door space for my pocket chart I have left them in there.
