AESOP help

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I recently started subbing and have only worked 1 job. It feels like an EBAY auction when I try to sign up for a job listing. As I press the "accept assignment" button, it says "sorry another sub has been assigned". I can't sit on my computer all day pressing the refresh button hoping for a job that just gets taken away from me. Is there a computer program I can buy that will help me with AESOP? I think I have heard of it on this website. Does it exist and how is it working for you?

Just about 10 posts down, there is a thread about jobulator.

I check AESOP at odd hours and only "sit" on it in the morning.

I use an automatic refresher program (MY DH found it on the net) it works with PC's (I don't know about MAC's) basically it refreshers every few minutes (you manually enter how many minutes it takes to refresh the page)....it's not as good as the JOBULATOR which verbally tells you there's a job available.

but free beats them hands down I think!!!!

I posted something a while back about two free Firefox add-ons (SiteDelta and RefreshEvery) that you can set up to send you alerts when a job is posted on AESOP. Unfortunately, you still need to be by your computer to see/hear the alerts...

After you posted that - I put them on my computer and they made my life so much easier. What I do is that since my computer is centrally located in the house - I just leave that browser up to reload. As I'm going by - I just click if the monitor is on sleep mode - and it will show if a job is there.

In the evenings - we all share the computer so usually someone is on it most nights doing something. Everyone knows if they hear the "bong" to yell that there is a job - I just scoot over and get it.

I've only had 2 free days all year - so its really helped!

Refresh Every/SiteDelta

Hi,

I downloaded both sitedelta and refresh every to my computer. How do you get them to work together? Is there an order that you must open them with?

I have Site delta set to refresh every minute and play a sound when the page changes. However, when refresh every is working, the green triangle sometimes goes black. Does sitedelta refreh the page or do I need to set refresh every to update every 5 seconds?

Thanks
David
