I got the job!

Clip to ScrapBook #1

After a four month long hiring process and a week and a half wait post interview I was offered a position!

I will be working at a school for students with behavioral needs at the high school level. The work will be challenging, but I'm confident I will be successful. They will also fund my master's degree.

I just feel so fortunate and grateful. I was just dropped from my family's dental plan a few weeks ago, so getting this position and benefits is an incredible relief. Subbing this year went well, but I'm excited to start my career!

Congratulations! I work at a school jut like that with the same age group, and if those type of students are who you love working with, it is a great job to have. Never a boring day.
It can be very high burn out - look for coworkers who are positive and share your love for kids and challenges. Stay away from getting sucked into complaining about students, parents, coworkers or admin. Not that there is nothing to find wrong, but it will deplete you of your energy faster than a cell phone depletes at -40 F.

I worked at a school like that for three years (New Story). I left because of very low pay and bad management of the building. I couldn't pass up the 20K more I got when I went to public school. Congratulations! It is draining, but I loved my kids.
