Favorite kitty litter and food?

What's your favorite kitty litter and cat food?

Currently for litter I'm using (because that's what the shelter uses and provides for the foster kittens) a kiln dried pine pellet horse bedding. It's not perfect (it doesn't clump, though younger kittens need non-clumping anyway). However, it is SUPER cheap - like $6 for a 40 pound bag! It's also fairly low odor - when they pee the pellets break down into sawdust, and I hardly notice any urine smell at all. I do notice a poo smell, especially if they don't bury it.I'm leaning towards sticking with this when I adopt my kitten since it's so cheap, is relatively non dusty, and doesn't seem as potentially harmful as some of the other types of litter.

The shelter currently feeds Science Diet. I'll stick with it at least for now (and transition slowly if I do change) since that's what he's used to, but I was curious if there was something better. I'm looking for a good balance of quality without breaking the bank.

I loved Feline Pine. My cat did not agree, unfortunately.

If your cat likes the pine pellets, I'dstick with that. I don't think anything controls unburied odor. The only pro to switching that I can think of is that she might bury the poop more often. My understanding is that some say cats don't like the feel of the pellets on their paws.

World’s Best cat litter. It’s corn based, not clay based. I like it and my cat likes it.

I LOVE LOVE Neon litter. It is silicon based and ends up cheaper than traditional litter.

We have 2 cats. The cat smell is nil and scooping it is less than with clay based.

We are sold on it. I’ve had cats for 40 years and Neon was a definite improvement.

We use blue buffalo food for cat food. Grain free.
