Where to get eye exam?

I no longer have vision coverage so I canít go to my old eye doctor. Went to Sight for Sore Eyes about 6 months ago and am not happy with the prescription. Iím always moving them around on my face. Not sure if itís the actual prescription or that the bifocal line wasnít measured correctly.

Any ideas/suggestions?

I go to Costco, have always had a thorough exam and never had a problem with the glasses.

When I moved, I had to find a new eye doctor. I didnít have any friends here yet to ask for recommendations, so I chose by Yelp reviews. I also have bifocals (in addition to contacts). The first time they made a kind of division I didnít want. The 2nd pair werenít measured quite right. They were very nice about sending them back and having them remade until they were just right.

I do have a very small allotment from VSP which allowed me to choose a local independent doctor, but itís still expensive and Iím thinking about going with Kaiser next time. Iíd love to hear if others use Kaiser for vision.

Good luck!

Costco. Skilled technicians and doctors and great prices.

I really loved my Walmart eye doctor, and I had good luck with their glasses & contacts, too. I paid out-of-pocket because I didnít have vision insurance. My current insurance doesnít cover them, so I switched to a local place. Very few eyeglass choices, so I order from Zenni online.

I am very nearsighted, need progressive bifocals, and have astigmatism. I only had to send one pair of glasses back at a Walmart. They had switched the lenses. (One eye is worse than the other.) I also had a frame break, and they replaced it free.
