Cooking class follow up

Well, good thing that cooking class was fun because, even though I didnít eat the lasagne or the grits, I gained 1.2 lbs. I need to lose, not gain.

Good news: turned out that the woman sitting next to me is a neighbor who lives just down the street. I walk to cooking class and she recognized me by my hiking poles. It was lovely to meet her. So now when I see her walking her gorgeous Sheltie (she showed me a picture), I can wave and say hello by name. I suppose this sounds ridiculous, but it means a lot to me.

That is wonderful that you met a neighbor. Enjoy telling her hello from time to time. Who knows maybe you will see each other at another cooking class.

Not at all ridiculous. I think getting to know people when you are fairly new to an area is huge!

sounded delicious and I'm glad you enjoyed the class! It's fun to meet neighbors and build friendships. A woman at my gym overheard me talking about a wine trip we took and introduced herself. Now it's fun to visit with her.

I totally understand how you feel, Amiga. I grew up in a small town where everyone knows everyone. When I married I moved to another state, knowing virtually no one. Iíll always remember being on an escalator at the mall, probably 40+ years ago, when someone said hello to me by name. What a great feeling... to finally know someone!

Proof positive that simply preparing food and not even eating it can cause weight gain. Didn't we all know that?
