Iíve been retired 3.5 years and am still absolutely DELIGHTED by this freedom of time!

Iíve been trying to get a contractor I trust to do a small job for months. I didnít nag because I knew heíd work me in, but I did send friendly reminders. He called yesterday and said 7:00am today. Yup. Clear the decks. What I thought would take a couple of hours took all day and theyíll need 2 more hours tomorrow morning. No problem.

I looooooove retirement!

I feel that way about making medical appointments. Before when I was working, everything had to be around 4:00 or later, unless I took a sick day and had to deal with writing sub plans. Now, I can call and the earlier they can make it, the better.

And I would not be able to take classes during the day at my gym, either. I hated going at 6:30 at night because they didn't offer anything between 4 and that time.

I agree with both of you on the reasons for bliss.

Add in shopping- for groceries, shoes, whatever. Getting things done during the week when kids are in school and most people are at work is great. I rarely go anywhere on the busy weekends.

And movies! Weekday afternoon movies are the best!

I've been retired since June and still marvel at having days when I have to do absolutely NOTHING!

I love doing all my shopping during the quieter daytime hours, having appointments any time of day, and all those good things. The very best thing is.... having evenings and weekends free!! No marking, no lesson planning and no squeezing in all the above-mentioned things! Retirement rocks!

And our weekends are our own. No more Sunday blues.
