More alcohol inked rocks

These are a bit addicting to work on! I think I have 3-5 medium to large rocks and about a dozen smaller ones left to do.

I use a squeeze bottle with a needle tip to wet the rock with the 91% alcohol and then add color. The color runs in lines down the rock. I use a paint brush with either alcohol or blending solution to fill in all the white spaces. Then I can add more color with alcohol &/or blending solution and use the air puffer. Flicking the alcohol to make the little spots really adds to the cool factor.

Those are beautiful. I have tons of rocks in my yard so I'm going to see if I can find a couple of tutorials on You Tube. Is the color permanent enough to keep the rocks outside? If so they would look amazing in a planting area.

There is a video on this BLOG link that I used as a tutorial.

Once they were all done, I sprayed a couple of coats of Clear Polyurethane (after the posted photo) which should protect it outside. I decided I want a glossier surface so I have purchased Triple-thick Crystal Clear Glaze but haven't sprayed yet.
