Where do you purchase your class sets of books? I need to order 21 copies to do a novel study and would like to get the best price I can. I am thinking of doing "The Mouse and the Motorcycle."

Thank you-

G

The best price that I have found have always been from Scholastic book clubs. You can get them so cheap and without paying tax. You can also use bonus points when you order.

Definitely Scholastic! Bonus points and cheap rates are the best thing about it. Sometimes they sell them in sets of 5, too.

Call and talk to one of their representatives to order. They can sometimes get you a better price for multiple sets than just ordering online. I've seen The Mouse and the Motorcycle in their book club flyers for $1 before.

I would also check your area to see if Scholastic is having a warehouse sale. They usually do about this time of year...also at the beginning and end of the school year. I have purchased multiple copy sets at these sales.

Scholastic has the best deals-although, sometimes, you can get sets at auction on ebay. Problem with that is, they can take a long time to arrive (sellers use book rate, which can take as long as a slow boat to China).

Scholastic's books often come in packs of six for guided reading (you'll see them on the glossy insert pages that come with your fliers), and they run good sales. I always get multiple sets to give as holiday gifts-always less drama when they all get the same book!
