Had Shingles Shot 2 Today

Home it does not make me sick like the first one. Took Tylenol afterwards. But even if I get sick it is worth not having Shingles.

Who else has had the new vaccine and booster three to six months later? Did you get sick both times?

I had both Shingrix vaccinations. They both affected me equally. Not fun, but totally worth it if it works!

you're not feeling well from the shot.
I'm jealous because the Shingrix is harder to locate than the Holy Grail - no doctors or pharmacies have it. They all say it may be June before it's available.

The closest I can get to the Shingrix vaccine is a wait list at my doctorís office.

Shingles vaccine

As with read2day, the closest I am to a shingles shot is the waiting list at the district health department.

They told my husband and me that if we are out of town and see if anyone (CVS, Walgree's, etc.) has them to grab them! Our district health department's last shipment of the shingles vaccine was last October, receiving only enough for 10 people. They had to give those to the people who were needing their 2nd shot.

A friend and her husband were out of town (200+ miles away), and just happened to stop at a Walgreen's for something else, and a truck had barely started unloading a shipment. They stuck around until all was done and got their shots.

The shortage started last year, why is there STILL such a shortage??????

I got one in September at the grocery store pharmacy where I shop. Then they did not have any evvery time I called after a three month wait. Today that finally had some. It has actually been six months and four days since my fist injection. I think I was supposed to get it within six months. Hope I got it soon enough to be effective. Feel okay so far.

I've been calling my clinic for my second shingles booster shot. They just say call back next week. I hope I don't have to wait longer than six months.

I didn't feel ill at all with my first shot.

I didnít get sick with either shot but my arm hurt like crazy both times. I have had shingles and a sore arm for a week after each shot is a small price to pay to avoid having shingles again.

Hmmmmm..... I had no difficulty with having to wait for my shots. I felt ill after both. Sort of achy, tired, flu-like. It lasted less than 24 hours, though. I hope you donít feel yucky, but as you said it is better than getting shingles.

I had the shots last year. I felt sick both times, slightly different symptoms both times but pretty miserable for a day or two, I'm afraid. But the nurse told me getting shingles is still 100 percent worse!

With the first shot we (dh and I) had no reaction. With the second shot we both had reactions. Luckily we felt ill at different times so weíre able to get grandson to school and tennis, etc. Right when I was feeling human, I pinched a nerve in my back trying to do laundry. So, after two trips to the doctor, medication trials, lots of lifetime TV, an x-ray, and weeks of physical therapy, I am feeling almost okay. I sure hope it was worth it!

No problem getting them and no reaction after. Took two Tylenol before each shot which is what I do for all preventive shots (flu too).

I got the Shingrix vac at Costco about a year ago. I remember feeling like I had the flu after the first shot but not after second. Its was an annoying side effect but sooooooo much better than getting shingles. I urge everyone to buck up buttercup and do it.

I got my first one 2 months ago. Never felt sick but my arm developed a hard lump where the injection was and itched like crazy. I'm on a waiting list for shot number two. They have no idea when they will get more. The pharmacist told me that it is best to have the second within 2- 6 months after the first but you could have it up to a year if necessary. Hope he's correct. It may take that long to get more into the store!

Shingles Shot

With the first shot, my arm got sore within two hours, and it was sore for three days. I received the second shot two weeks ago, and there was just a slight soreness. I did not get sick with the shots and hope I never do get Shingles.

I got my Shingles shot on a Saturday morning in early December at Costco. I was there to get a flu shot and thought I would ask if they had the Shingles shot. They had 1 shot left and I was lucky to have been there at the right time. I got a call in February from Costco reminding me to come in for the second one.

I did not get sick but my arm was very sore both times for over a week.

The first one made me very sick with chills, fever, aches for two days. The second one I just had a mild fever and a little aching. It was still much better than having shingles again. The pharmacist told me that some people feel worse after the second one than the first.
When I got the first dose, my pharmacist told me the second dose was reserved for me and when to come back for it, so I didn't have to worry about them not having it.
