Hummingbird feeder

I got HOA permission to hang a hummingbird feeder on my balcony (thanks to lisa the bird lady for making me remember I want to do this) so now I have to decide which one. There are so many and Iím open to suggestions. Iím really attracted to the over-the-top painted hand blown glass ones, but I also like plain and functional. Help, knowledge, opinions welcome.

I love the top one but I feel like you might get more takers with the bottom one.

The blown glass ones are stunning. If you want something beautiful but understated try to find a blown glass without the painting.

I once bought a fancy one and the hummingbird food leaked out the drinking spout. I canít tell from your picture if the one you like might have that issue. I wound up getting some similar to your bottom pictures. It may be just me, but I prefer the part that holds the nectar to be made of glass rather than plasticó easier to keep clean. You can make your own nectar by bringing 1/4 cup sugar and 1 cup water to boil, then cool before filling the feeder. Red dye is not good for them.

Your top feeder choice is beautiful!

Sidebaró my mom was a hummingbird magnet. DH often joked that she could live in a parking lot and attract them . The summer after she passed away was a banner year for hummingbirds in our yard

Good luck attracting these incredible little birds!

The top one is pretty, but I'm a traditionalist with hummingbird feeders. I hope you get a lot of of takers and get a few pics to share!

I like the top one!
We've gone through many feeders. We finally had to find one that had no perches because larger birds
would land and make the feeder swing causing the sugar water to drain out in less than a day. Not that I mind sharing, but the solution brought ants.

Thank you all. I decided on ASAMís because I realize I want to look at the hummingbirds (I hope they come) and not the feeder. Hers is clever because thereís nothing to block my view of the hummingbirds at any port. Fingers crossed.

I've never seen the flat style that ASAM posted except for Baltimore Orioles. I like that it had several ports though. We get a return few hummers every year. It is one of the highlights of the summer for us to enjoy their visits.

Amiga, we have the same one as ASAM and it works really well. Also, much easier to clean than the tube style.

Go with the flat one. I have four of these and they are much easier to clean.

ETA: obviously I need to read the PPs posts first. ASAM already posted a similar feeder.

Be careful with the cats. Iíve always enjoyed feeding the hummingbirds, but had to take mine down because Iíd created a kitty cafe.

I really like ASAM's link, too! Good choice! I hope you catch some pics of those little birds.

I donít like birds but I love my hummingbirds. This is looking out the bay window in the master bedroom. The cats like to watch them. This one is easy to fill etc.
