And I helped DH with his project. He is helping me on mine. We have a 1970’s house that was built by a couple from Japan. So it has Japanese and 1970’s type of flavor that I kind of like. We have been in the house for at least two years now and I finally figured out what to do with the built in planter. I still want to add some fairy lights at the base, but it is done for now. Off to my rope wall project. (The bamboo was harvested from my neighbor’s yard, it will get more brown as it ages)

The bamboo looks fabulous! And good for you for respecting the character of the house.

I think it looks cool, sort of like a wall divider. Good job!

I like the bamboo, for some reason we aren't suppose to plant it in our yards. It is invasive. I don't know how true that is, but I don't want to try it.

You better believe it can be invasive. My neighbors planted a row of bamboo a decade ago to use as a fence, and now they can't get rid of it. Bamboo can grow like crazy, and theirs are 40+ feet tall and still growing, with new shoots sprouting constantly.

Never, ever plant bamboo!!! My parents planted some in the 70's. I spent my teens poisening shoots. It is still a huge problem in their yard. Selling their house will be interesting because of it.
