Daycare :(

Any advice on handling the first drop off at daycare? I've been home with my little one for 3/4 of a year now, and how am I supposed to trust someone else's care? I've found the best situation for him out there, but I can't imagine the tears and heartbreak I'll feel driving away....

Have you been in for a visit? I do not have kids, but a friend went once a week for a few weeks with her little one so that they could play together in the classroom during free play. She went maybe 3 times for 30-40 minutes. This helped her child to get used to it and also for her to be comfortable with the program.

Where you are now. I hated leaving my dd. That said she only was upset when I first left. I was told that she stoppered crying miniutes after I left. I didn't believe it so the next day I snuck back. She was having a ball. By the end of the first week she was crating when I would pick her up.-she didn't want to come home. Our kids pick up on our feelings so put on a brave front when you drop off. I just kept telling myself that I had no other choice so I had to make the best of it.

((((((((HUGS))))))))))

It's HARD!! Quick goodbyes. Stay calm and relaxed with your baby while you're dropping off. Then you can fall apart in the car. It will get better.

I've done a few drop offs and he seems as happy as could be so at least there's that. I am hysterical when I get into the car. I just haven't done a full day yet. It just saddens me that our time together is over. I know we'll have our afternoons after school, but it's not enough! I'll miss so much...will I know him as well? Will he feel the same about me?
