May we please have one of these today?!

1. I took a personal day today...for no other reason than I COULD! I went to lunch, had and adult beverage and went shopping!

2. It hurts to work your a$$ off for your school and then get left off a team you have served on FOR YEARS! So when you tell me it isn't personal....don't expect me to buy it AT ALL!

3. I can't wait to spend the weekend with my family celebrating Christmas! Bring on the kids, the gifts, the snow and the crazy because this Auntie LOVES IT ALL! <3

Whew....thanks, I feel so much better now. Number 2 still really hits me at moments...but I am trying to get past it!

-Sitting at the visitation for my friend's DH. Sad. No other word for it.
-I've gained almost 30 lbs and it's not spurring me into action. What the heck is wrong with me?
-I am seriously scared about the way my P is doing evaluations (and they've never bothered me before).
-I detest and despise winter.
-I'm just blah.

1. I love being retired and not having to leave the house on a frigid, freezing day.

2. My dog is having some health problems. She is twelve and has slowed down quite a bit.

3. DH is bringing matzo ball soup home for dinner. I'm not feeling well and am looking forward to a big bowl of that yummy chicken broth and matzo balls.

The students left for winter break around 3:30, as did most of my coworkers. I LOVE that I'm still at work. No one is bugging and it's like my own little workday. In almost 2 hours I've cleaned, put up a new and fabulous bulletin board, and reorganized my desk. Another 30 minutes and I'll go home for two weeks knowing I got SO much done.

My reward for staying late tonight? A massage and pedi appointment for tomorrow.

If I never hear another da@#^& jingle bell, I'll be fine with that.

The old old ice maker broke on Tuesday and I tickled it back into action. Not dispensing perfectly, but we have ice.

The old old microwave apparently died yesterday. Thank goodness we have an even older backup.

I must have a subliminal attraction to thermoses.

Since I can't do it all, for the first time in my life I'm occasionally allowing myself to give up.

It's a perfect Friday night: DH and I just relaxing listening to Christmas music with Suzy (my dog in my avatar) DS (15) is asleep upstairs and DS (11) is at a friend's house I will have to brave the cold to go get him.

We've had enough snow this week to use the snowblower this week, and DS (15) received a tutorial on it's use! He seemed to feel a sense of accomplishment!

DS (11) is acting like a typical middle schooler...here we go again!

1. As much as I love my new part time teaching job, my 3 hour a day student is going to put me over the top. Good thing break is coming on Thursday and lasts until January 9th.
2. I realized why my 3hour per day student likes to write the number six so much and does it so well. He was doing simple addition problems today. Three answers in a row (thanks auto-generator works jpher maker) were 6. Think about it.
3. I ordered pizza for dinner. It was cold and disgusting. At least they sent the right order this time.
4. I hate this weather. We haven't had outdoor recess in 2 weeks. I need to go out and shovel before I go to bed. I think I will listen for the neighbor's snowblower. Maybe he will take pity on the old lady next door...again.

- This week has been he//! Major IEP with many advocates for student who has major mental health issues. Starting referral process for the other student with unmanaged behaviors.
- Looking forward to Christmas break that starts on Thursday.
- Just poured the last of the bottle of wine I opened into my glass.
- Feeling mellow and relaxing while watching it snow like mad outside.
- I don't plan to leave the house until Monday for school. It is to darn cold out!

Petty people can turn even a nice gesture into a dig.

I'm off for 17 days and that's the last I will think of them.

The kids were a mess today -- the last day before break!

Secret Santa drama at work -- not me -- but I am coordinator. I swear one woman just packaged totally random crap in gift bags-- not even looking at the recipient's likes and dislikes.

I am SO glad to have the next two weeks off!

Being in the hospital for 3 weeks (minus 2 days) has taught me to look for small blessings:

*Bedpan vs. catheter
*Carolers in the hall, singing
*A kind nurse who brings you a Starbucks because she knows you are down
*A regular room vs. icu
*A social worker who stopped in because "I sensed you needed me"

Huge things!!!!

I hate potty training. My DS (3) won't for the life of him poop on the potty, but it is easier to poop in his undies and yes he needs to clean it all.up. He can use the potty, but he is stubborn.....just like his mommy.

I'm watching the series Frankie and Grace on Netflix and completely identify with both women. Our lives can evolve into such strange places. Where is the Donna Reed Show that I ordered?

I "accidentally" wore my PJ's all day.

I had wine and fruit cake for dinner.

Teenage boys astonish me with their ability to seem clueless and self involved and then to show amazing compassion to a friend going through a terrible situation.

I think some parents want their children to live with them forever. So many of my students have parents who don't teach responsibility and get mad at teachers when we try to teach it.

Why do some parents refuse to evaluate their children? If I describe how much he struggles academically and organizationally why wouldn't you want to find the cause for that?

I got a nice surprise in the mail yesterday. It was a $194 property tax rebate check.

I need to go grocery shopping. I am out of the elements of food.

*We have one more week before winter break and the kids wanted to know why we did not have our Christmas party yet(???). Good Grief!

*My daughter in law is dilated to 1cm...the first grand baby is coming soon!

*More blood work and tests...I think my veins are dry.

*If the rain will stop, I can mow the lawn. It's getting rather high!

**I couldn't stand the thought of my son and grandchildren spending 2 nights in their horse trailer while at a horse riding event. So, I happily sprung for a hotel for them for 2 nights. Made my day to be able to do this!

I can see the baby kicking from the outside now - this pregnancy is going so fast because my toddler keeps me so busy. We found out it's another boy, and I was surprised to feel gender disappointment - two sons will be amazing, but it does feel like a loss to never get to experience a daughter. That feeling leads to guilt, which is unproductive.

The week before Christmas is my favorite - so much anticipation and excitement. I hope it goes slowly!

. It's cold as ____ here in Michigan!!!!!

DD graduated with her master's today! So proud!

Hate paying for restaurant meals and getting cold, overcooked food. Some was replaced, but zero compensation was offered! Won't be going back there!

Did I mention it's cold in Michigan???

Got a really cute cat tote bag from my good friend. Haven't had time to shop for her but will get her a gift.
Only have one volunteer for my class party, so need to rethink it.
I'm tired!
My son is getting married in 21 days.
Need to try on my dress etc tomorrow.

1. I have a bad neck cramp that's aggravated an old head injury causing my fingers on my left hand to be numb (last three).

2. Survived this week and have two days next week before I go home.

3. Saw Rogue One last night with the 501st and had a blast raising money for Make a Wish.

4. Heating Pads are good though I can't tell if I need it for my neck or for my left knee.

5. Dad is having knee surgery Monday so I'm spending break taking care of Mom.

6. Grad School goes on break for two weeks starting Wednesday.
