Tmi birth control ???? PT docs

I have taken Yasmin/ocella for years and have never had a problem. I picked up my prescription from the pharmacy in late November and it was something else (zarah). Didn't know anything about it, did a google search and its another generic for Yasmin. Ever since I've been taking zarah, I have had breakthrough bleeding. I've never experienced breakthrough bleeding before. I have a call in to the dr. Nurse and am waiting for a call back. If its the "same" then why would this happen?!?

I'm not an expert, but my DD asked for Yasmin and her doctor wouldn't prescribe it for her. She said they have had too many problems with it. Maybe they found something "similar" but w/less side effects. Like I said, I'm not an expert....

I have used Yasmin and now I am on Ocella now and I have never had a problem, plus I take them for three months straight. Sorry, I have never used zarah. If Ocella worked for you request that the doctor change you back.

Generic vs brand name

Even though it's the same medicine, sometimes people don't have the same kinds of reactions to them.

I don't think too many docs are willing to prescribe Yasmin because of a huge issue with blood clots. It's too much liability for them.

I hope you hear something from your doctor soon.

In the same boat - loved yasmin. Now on something else (month 3). The first month was awful, second got better, but the third month I started my period a week early! Ugh. Now they want to put me on something else and I want to cry!
