What does your engagement/wedding ring look like?

Is it engraved? Any special features? What color metal? Would you change it if you could? How many years have you been married?

Is your dream engagement ring what you got? If not what would your dream ring look like?

I love jewelry. My dream engagement ring would be Princess Dianaís ring.

I’ll make it easy...here’s mine.

Originally, I didn’t want a diamond. I wanted a very carved, antique ring. I’m happy I chose this instead. On the down side, I chipped it years ago climbing a granite mountain. You can barely see how the diamond is straight on the bottom, instead of curved.

Mine is pretty simple: round diamond solitaire on a gold band. Itís just exactly what I wanted! Dh says when he went shopping for it (by himself) he almost got a heart shaped diamond, which I would have hated. Luckily he changed his mind!

I never had an engagement ring. Just a plain gold wedding band. We could barely afford those...they were $100 each!

Later dh wanted to buy me one, but it just didnít seem as if it was ever the best use of our limited money. Iím not really a bling type of gal...

I love my ring so much! It's pre-1960s, so I'm safe from the taint of a blood diamond, which was very important to me. It's set in platinum, because I don't like yellow gold and "white gold" needs to be re-dipped or something and silver isn't hard enough for stones.

Very plain gold wedding band with our date engraved inside. Engagement ring was a simple diamond that DH bought with his college graduation money. We have been married 51 years.
One of my favorite wedding picture shows our hands/rings, the lace details of my dress, and the buttons of his dress uniform.

DH picked out my ring 35 years ago. Itís a round diamond solitaire on a simple gold band.
About 6 mos before the wedding, we realized that we didnít get any wedding bands! The jewelry company where he bought the ring (a small mom & pop shop) went out of business. We bought plain gold wedding bands- no engraving.
My engagement ring does not match or really goes with the wedding band. You canít really tell unless you look at both rings. I guess thatís why I love and cherish them so much.

DH picked out the engagement ring himself, and I chose the enhancer instead of a wedding band. For our first anniversary he bought the band on the bottom. They are all soldered together. We have been married three years.

Man and I picked out the rings together almost 28 years ago. The wedding ring is soldered so it nestles into the engagement ring. The single band at the bottom is my grandmother's wedding band which my mom wore for a long time along with her wedding/engagement rings. I started wearing it after my mom died 2 1/2 years ago.

The only thing I'd change is to have it engraved on the inside with our wedding date.

Platinum band on the engagement and wedding band. The rings were bought in 1931. They are my grandmotherís rings. I was going to inherit them so my mom gave them to my Dh When he was going to propose. He had the diamond reset into a different setting for me. I used my grandmotherís band as my wedding band.

This is mine. We have been married 8 years, but together 20. My first engagement ring was CZ because we wanted to use the money for a down payment on our home. After about 10 years DH got me this ring. He chose the stone and I picked out the setting. It is white gold with yellow gold in some areas. It needs to be treated about once a year to maintain the white gold finish, but the jeweler does it for no charge. The wedding band is soldered to the engagement ring. No engraving. Since I picked out the setting, it is one I really like . The other gold wedding band is my mother’s. She passed away 2 years ago in September and I have worn it ever since then. In looking at my photo it looks like my fingers are chopped off! . I just held that pose because I have rather unattractive fingers IMO.
