Expired License

I read the post below about the new ID requirements for flights, and I had an OMG moment. I remember that my drivers license needed to be renewed. I planned on doing that in September when I paid my vehicle taxes, but I forgot.

Now I have to go during my planning period tomorrow because they close at 4pm. I’ve got something until later than that every day this week. Ugh!

So, the strange thing is that I have handed it over to two different doctor’s offices, and nobody said anything. And, strangest of all, I used it to buy a new car and then change a title on another car. Nobody caught it.

Last time mine expired no one caught it until I went to a pharmacy to buy cold medication. They wouldn’t sell them to me with an expired license. Luckily you can renew online in my state so I was able to take care of it quickly.

You're lucky.

I failed to renew my license once when I first moved to this state 30 years ago. I had moved and the renewal notice didn't catch up with me. I discovered it when I got pulled over for having a tail light out. When the officer saw that my license was expired, he wouldn't let me get back in the car and drive away.

I was on my way to church - I had to direct a choir rehearsal - and my daughter was with me. He gave us a ride to the church and a couple of my choir members very kindly took us home, and picked up my car and drove it to my home. It was horrifically inconvenient and made my car insurance rates go up as well. Needless to say, I've never forgotten to renew my license again.

Good thing you didn't go to take a PRAXIS test. Those folks would have caught that. .

I let my license expired once. I was so scared I'd get in big trouble and penalized. Everything was fine when I went to renew it.

Well, you all got off very lucky. Years ago, I had let mine expire over 3 months late. Guess what? I had to retake my driving test including the maneuverability part! It was horrible. I finally passed but by the skin of my teeth.

When I let mine lapse one year I had to take the written test over. I passed, but it was an inconvenience.

I got it done today during my planning period. My partner teacher went with me because hers was expired, too.

My mother told me that she read a story about an athlete who was pulled over for tinted windows. He was arrested because his license had expired. I am not sure if this really happened or if my mom read it wrong.
