Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi all,

Anyone enjoying great books this summer?

My latest find is In The Woods, a mystery by Tana French. I've been glued to it for 2 days!

What great books have you read lately?

Sue

I read all books by Debbie Macomber. Her work is very homey, romantic, and clever storytelling.

I have read most of Jodi Picoult. She always has some moral question wrapped around her stories. She will throw in a curveball at the end of how the problem is solved.

I am still teaching and have read several professional books on language arts. . .since you are retired (?), I will skip those descriptions.

I will be looking into the book you mentioned. Thanks!

The Glass Castle

I really liked it as it reminded me of some of the kids I have taught and makes you think about some of these kids coming to school.

Couldnt put it down!

hot humid summer eh!

I LOVED The Glass Castle. It did make me think about my students. What the author was able to do with her life is wonderful.

I also loved A Thousand Splendid Suns, by the same author as The Kite Runner. Three Cups of Tea was another favorite.

Geraldine Brooks is an author that I am enjoying now.

If I'm not careful, my entire retirement will be spent reading.

I also just finished In the Woods. It was a good read but I wanted to know what happened to the kids who were missing from the main character's childhood. Did miss something? Planning on reading Threee Cups of Tea next.
