Assess reading level

Does anyone know of a website or resource that I can use to assess the Spanish reading level of a newcomer (6th grader)? Does anyone know if there is a Spanish STAR test on the Accelerated Reader site? I couldn't find one, but it could be that our county just hasn't purchased that option??
Thanks for any help and advice!!

I am sure there are resources out there...I've used stuff off of Reading A-Z before (they have books in Spanish).

I know that AIMS Web also has Spanish options.

Also, we are required to give an English fluency assessment (We give the IPT which tests reading, writing, listening, speaking) when someone fills out a home language survey indicating a language other than English. My district has this test in both English and Spanish. You might check with your district office to see if they have any resources.

The only kicker is that you probably need someone who is fluent in Spanish to actually assess the student in person.
