Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi guys,

When you guys decide your kiddos to parents what do you tell parents about the child and their day?
I am a relatively new teacher and when I am dismissing kiddos to the parents its a little overwhelming because I am not sure what I am supposed to tell them. I tell them if they had a good day and if they ate lunch but beyond that what else am I supposed to tell them?

Thanks!

If you have a criticism, then sandwich the bad news between 2 nice comments.

Ex. Child has been pushing other kids for a couple of days, a few times a day.

Tell parents that child put away the toys really well, was quite helpful. Mention the pushing in one sentence. Then say tomorrow will probably be a better day with no pushing.

I only report if a child is consistently misbehaving. I might not say anything if it was just today that wasn't so great.
