I am looking to see if this will work for these two. For the professional need, we are working in our school every month about "growth mindset" and we have monthly meetings, book to read, etc... and for the student need, I have been working a lot lately on personlized learning because I am going 1:1 in my class and it will be really helpful to meet the needs of every student. I have been to PD's on it and we have one every month at the school. What do you guys think???? Will this work????

It can work, absolutely. Keep in mind, you need two kinds of evidence for the SN and PLN: showing how you identified the need, and how you met the need, showing how YOUR actions improved student performance. It's like backward planning. With NBs, always look to the evidence and it always comes down to IMPROVING STUDENT PERFORMANCE.

I took these two questions from the guide:

 What impact did addressing the professional learning need have on student learning?
 What impact did addressing the student need have on student learning?

I like the idea of using growth mindset for the PLN, but wondering about the impact on student learning. Maybe a pre and post test?

The impact it had on student learning was to ensure to students that if they have a growth mindset they will indeed show growth in their learning. I have had a few "talks" about growth mindset with the students and they looked to have tried harder after that.

I wish I had seen this board last year...I'm having to redo all 3 portfolios because I thought my evidence was clear but apparently it needed work. I'm a music teacher and we don't have tons of data on each student, so it is super hard to figure out how to connect it all.

I almost used growth mindset for my C4! I ended up going with something else, but I had a lot of evidence for it. For one of my pieces of evidence, I used a student survey about how they felt they improved (I also used gradebook evidence so it wasn't totally anecdotal).

I was thinking of doing something similar at the end of the unit for my PLN. Not exactly sure yet, but I was thinking of using a scale and having students rate themselves on how much the strategy helped them improve their mathematical writing over the last few months. They can then add a brief narrative about the impact.

But here's my question ... do you just take one narrative for the evidence or combine a few for a screenshot?

I just going through the thought process right now and pulling together things that I can get together right now. I haven't read deep into the component needs yet, but getting ready to. I will have more questions when I get into it more.

I summarized a lot of the information (75% of students found that they had "improved or highly improved" on A, B, and C.) And I quoted as much as possible.
