Alright, I am sure this is a stupid question. But I was wondering what is the difference between holding a standard teaching certificate, a certificate of eligibility, and a certificate of eligibility with advanced standing?

I just graduated from college and majored in elementary education and I don't know what certificate I will be receiving?(I took the traditional route in school and am from NJ, if that matters). Can someone please clarify this for me?

In Florida, after you graduate you have to apply to the state and they will send you a certificate of elegibility telling you what you need to get the prof. certificate. After you pay your fee (60.00 here) they will send you your certificate if you have met all the testing and practical requirements. I do not know what a certificate of elegibility with advanced standing is. Go to you DOE website and there will be information. You have to apply and pay $$ to get your certificate issued. If everything is in order, it takes up to 4 weeks to get it.

ceas is what you get after you graduate from college and completed a teacher approved program

ce is what you get if you do alt. route

after you get employed you will receive you provisional

once you complete a full yr of teaching in your certified area and you've been mentored you receive your standard

Hi, I just graduated from a school in NJ too. Mine says CEAS Elementary Teacher and then I applied again for my 5-8 Subject Matter Specialization.
