Fun Summer Recipe

On the Today Show yesterday they made watermelon daiquiris. I had a watermelon in the fridge and thought I would make them today. Its hot out and I got lazy so instead I cut the melon into bite size pieces, sprinkled with the lime juice and poured the rum over the melon. I set this in the fridge for about an hour to chill down again. Now I am snacking on 'juiced up' ice cold watermelon. Bite sized waremelon daiquiris without the blender.

Deliciously yummy!!

I used half of a good sized watermelon, the juice of 1 lime, and about a cup and a half of rum. You could use tequila and then sprinkle salt on the watermelon before you eat it.

I know what I'm doing with the other half of the melon!

Funny...my DH loves watermelon and I don't really care for it. So...we never buy it because I'm kind of in charge of grocery shopping...

I may surprise him with a watermelon tonight just so I can enjoy this tasty summer treat. He'll be shocked!

DS22 thinks I need to add more rum. I'm sure you could add more but I think it is good now.

Hope your husband enjoys your suprise. This could be a fun summer dessert with added blueberries.
