Unique fundraising social events?

We are looking for a new, fun way to fundraise for our sports team. Looking for ideas of something different than the typical basket auction, comedy night and meat raffle. All are been there, done that in my area. Please share any fun ideas you have had and/or been to!

Thanks in advance!

Our teachers carhop at Sonic twice a year. We have a lot of fun, and raise money for the PTA.

Pump gas

My niece's volleyball team did this and raised about $400 in three hours. Some of them wore costumes. As people pulled up to fill their tanks the girls would offer to pump their gas for a donation. One woman went home and got her other car to fill up to give them extra money. There is no cost involved so the money you make is all profit.

High school teams around here hold car washes. Spaghetti dinners are also popular.

Our library sold old prom dresses and formal dresses for $10 and $15. They raised TONS of money because people were generous in donating basically new dresses!

Bunco night! We are setting one up for a friend who is doing a 11 month, 11 country mission trip next year.

My husband's lacrosse team did a baggo tournament. It was a huge success.

The local high school cheerleaders did a fundraiser last year for teachers during Inservice days. They called it “Rent a Cheerleader”. Teachers at all schools throughout the district could pay hourly, half day, or full day to have one of the kids on the cheerleading squad come help in the classroom. The teacher next to me had a cheerleader cutting out laminated center activities. Others were putting up bulletin boards, making copies, etc. It was a huge hit and I think they raised a good bit of money.
