I’m changing what I eat and with this change comes fruits and vegetables. My body had no idea most of these things existed or could be consumed in current quantities. My latest discovery is what blueberries do to the color of poop.
I’m at the age where any changes to any functionality make me think the end is near. My heart can’t take it. They put dumb warnings on everything we buy, like hair dryers, “Don’t plug the dryer in and jump in a tub full of water and splash around waiting for the tingle.” Blueberries need a warning, like “Eating in large quantities will make your poop look like death’s trying to come out your butt. Chill, take a photo and share on Twitter. #everyoneiknowistravelingwhilei sitandpoop.”
Ohh, Hifi! Just so you know, pepto bismol will turn it black, and beets will make it look like you’re bleeding. I don’t want you to get scared! And asparagus will make your pee stink really bad. . .
When I taught elementary, I had kids research the weird and embarrassing things our bodies do- like fart, belch, stinky sweat, and the asparagus effect.
went full on panic mode after I made him eat beets. Yup, he thought the end was near. I managed to calm him down before he checked himself into hospice.
Picking season is here in Little Rhody! We picked 2 huge buckets. Yum. One for our B and B on the cape and one for us. Froze a whole big bag. Love bringing those out in February...
I’ve eaten lots of blueberries, but never had blueberry poop.

I remember after my first kid had a lot of cake/frosting for the first time and his poop was some crazy color and I was freaking out.
I had this happen except the first kid was maybe a month old and started pooping bright blue poop. She was nursing and wasn’t on real food yet, I hadn’t eaten anything blue. We had an emergency dr’s appointment....they had no clue. I went to my parents house and was telling my mom about it when my dad pulled out a birthday cake with blue frosting and asked if the color was similar. Turns out my dad thought I was depriving the baby by limiting her diet to breastmilk and had decided to give her some frosting for dessert.
The good thing about it is I can always blame my dad when she does stupid stuff. I’m sure she would have turned out even better if it wasn’t for all the sugar my dad fed her as a baby behind my back
omgosh, Ima! I would have been freaking! You can definitely blame him for years to come on whatever she does! My kid was a year old at least! (It was his first birthday cake)
