Long week - pretty sure it really is Friday (I've made that mistake before). These flowers make me smile. Growing on my son's property - they moved in in December so we're enjoying all the surprise flowers!

I have similar ones that my neighbor traded me for other things in my garden over the years as we both thin out our beds :-). I am very jealous of her orange poppies and I would love to get some of those too

This is the old fireplace on Stave Island.

My DD's father and his family have owned the island since the mid 1920's. DD's grandmother was born in the house that used to stand there.

The house used to be a camp for boys from Gallaudet (Grampy was dean). The house burned down in the early 60's when Grampy was burning brush.

Twinmom...Iíve got your combination. There is also a hanging pot with white petunias right next to it. It really makes a bold statement.

Iím having a terrible time posting pics Iíve taken since a recent update, so hereís DGS on a hot day (taken by his mom and right side up for me). Apparently he and I both dislike heat.

One of my kiddos gave this to me for teacher appreciation day. I left it at school until summer break. He was so sad when it lost all of the blooms, but I promised him they would come back. Tuesday it bloomed again. I sent his mom this picture and he was so happy to see they actually bloomed.

When he was picking out the plant, his mom said he put great thought into it and really made sure he got the right one for me. I just love it!

Ooh..the iris is my favorite flower.
Amiga...what a genius idea with the beach ramp.
Loving the first start of summer pics.

So, this is me outing myself, I guess. A photo of DH and me from my birthday dinner. Photo was taken just before my hairdresser friend came and fluffed up my hair.

Iíve been watching my DGD this week while her parents work. Usually she goes to day care but sheís had the flu and a fever all week. Her demeanor varies throughout the day from very sick to having a bit more energy.

We made this fairy garden together during one of her energetic times. She gave me all the supplies for Mother's Day.

Sheís still feverish and should arrive here shortly.

This week was particularly rough with the ex. But I got my hair done and added some pink to the bottom and blonde back at the top (to hide the ridiculous amount of gray I have gotten in the last 3 months.)

One of the many reasons I love Oregon. I planted a bulb on my side yard and then completely forgot about it. This is the result.

I celebrated Summer by going to my favorite nature area. It was a beautiful day, and I loved the peace and quiet of being there on a weekday! They have trolls hidden in the forest area made out of trees, and the butterfly in the picture is made out of Legos! It is a nice nature escape from the suburbs.

My sister went with me to the annual Cancer Surviver Dinner the other evening. I stopped to take a photo of the lovely grounds and caught her being silly...AND... in a dress!

Here is the before and after of the painting of my classroom. DH had to do a second coat on the white today, and there may need to be a few spots done later, too. The old white was so dirty.

It will look prettier once the daylilies start to bloom and some of those annuals take off. We have had a slow start this year. Peonies are no where near ready to bloom yet.
