I somehow fell down a Youtube rabbit hole and found a 2nd grade teacher recording her morning routine, which consists of exercising, cooking and eating breakfast, doing hair and makeup, reading a professional development book, and more. She woke up at 5 AM. If I did all that, even with waking up at 5 AM, I would get to school at noon.

Meanwhile, this is what my morning routine looks like:

Well... I also wake up at 5 am every school day. I lay in bed for a good 20 minutes deciding if Iím rocking 2 day old hair or washing it. Then I get dressed, finish the kids lunches, and wake up kids. After that, I dress kids, pick everything in the car, and pick up Starbucks at 6:30 am. I drop off kids at daycare at 7 and at school by 7:15.

No makeup
No reading
No exercising
No breakfast
No leisure at all.

Must be nice.

I was just grossed out that she exercised, but did not shower before she went to school.

I also have to admit that I am showing my age. Who wants to know what othersí morning routines are? Although I did watch the posted one, I would never seek out one on my own. I donít understand the interest.??

Well, it seems she has 2 hours, and she didn't shower, so I guess that makes sense. She must be a morning person . I know I could save time in the mornings by showering at night, but I just can't do it. I don't feel clean when I wake up that way, and I especially wouldn't want to do work out and then not shower!

I am such a sloth in the mornings that it takes me about an hour to shower, dry my hair, put on pretty minimal make up, and get dressed. If it's a weekend and I don't get ready until later in the day, the same routine will take me 30-40 minutes . I'm so tired in the mornings that I just move slowly even when I'm really trying to hurry. I even lay out my clothes and pack my lunch the night before. It drives me crazy because nothing I do should take an hour, but I simply cannot get it done any faster. I was late all of the time (for contract time, not students) when I tried to wake up later.

I'm up and out of the house (no breakfast, no leisure, but shower and making myself look "ok") within 35-40 minutes. I sleep until the last possible moment.

I can't believe that video has that many views! Her routine is really not that exciting!

A few thoughts.....yes, she didn't shower. Showering and drying/straightening hair is what takes most of my time. Also, she "works out" by lifting weights for 12-15 minutes. That's great, but I guess I don't consider that a full workout.

Good for her if she likes doing those things. I find it odd that she feels the need to put it on youtube though.

Morning Routines

The 2nd one cracks me up! Is that you or just someone similar?

I didn't watch the first one all the way through, but I can't imagine putting my morning routine on a Youtube video. That must be a younger generation thing.

It only takes me 45 min. to get ready for school, but I don't work out and I would never consider working out without a shower after.

Not having kids to care for makes all the difference. But what shocked me was she did her make up first and then brushed her teeth. Thatís so opposite of what I do.
Anybody with me on that? Or is it just me. And where did the other yolk go?

I agree with you. I have a certain order (I guess everybody does): deodorant, perfume, teeth, hair, make-up

I could only get through part of that- I hate doing my own routine, why would I want to watch someone elseís? I also donít understand why she taped this- how did you even come across this?! Lol

I used to get up at 4:30 and go to the gym- and my contract doesnít start till 8:45, so I had time to put in a long workout, drive to and from the gym, shower, and get ready. Most of the time I still had to eat breakfast at school.

Omg I had the same thought. Like I wouldnít even think to put my entire morning routine online. Yet somehow I was fascinated watching this girl. Also... why did she have to bring her coffee pot with her?!

The second video is HILARIOUS and exactly what Iím like.

Morning Routine

I canít get over that she can catch up on social media in about 10 minutes.

My goal for the new school year is to have a better morning routine. I know I want to do some type of workout, but Iím still in the planning stages. Summertime is so much easier for me in the mornings. I am NOT a morning person.

If you scroll down the comments she justifies not showering after her workout since so many people questioned her about it lol. She doesnít ďlike to go to sleep dirtyĒ- but I guess sheís ok being dirty all day at work? Haha

I am now watching her night routine. Weird to post but probably weirder that I was excited to watch it.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am kind of taking that whole thing as just an opportunity to brag. I honestly don't believe she does all of that, especially the part about reading a professional development book every AM before school! Seriously? Who does that???

Also found it odd that she felt the need to post her morning routine on YouTube. Everyone has some sort of morning routine, but I guess she considers hers to be more interesting than the total population of all other working people!

Why would anyone else care about the details of her morning routine.... but then I did take time to watch it !

I don't get the whole morning productivity thing. I prep at night so I don't have to be productive in the AM.

And BioAdopt, I totally agree with you about reading a professional book each morning. I call BS!

Yes, the pd book is way over the top! Every morning? Perhaps on a day when I have a plc meeting, but even then.....

Same.

I shower at night, so I just have to get ready. Clothes laid out and breakfast & lunch packed night before. Makeup, hair, clothes, take meds, leave.

This morning I got up at 10:30, and I made it to church at 11:00.

I always got up 45 minutes earlier than I needed to so I could sit zombie-like with my coffee. That was my priority. I guess I could have just slept those extra 45 minutes!

i sleep as late as possible also! husband wakes me up at 6:20. i stumble to the bathroom, then he has tea waiting for me, i eat a bowl of cereal half asleep. then i spend about ten minutes getting ready. (low maintenance, not much makeup, etc), Then i lay down on the couch and watch the news with him for about 20 minutes before i head off to school at 7.
i am not awake enough to go reading any professional development! i can barely comprehend when my husband is reading our daily devotions...
