I was just thinking while eating lunch and browsing PT if any of y'all have ever been on TV for any reason?? It would be interesting to see what show you were on and why.

I was on a local children's show when I was in grade 3. Our class was invited to be the audience for that episode, and I was one of those chosen to play a game on air. I've also sung in a few choirs that were featured on different programs.

While in high school, many moons ago, I was part of a folk group for my church. We did the local Mass on television one Sunday. Twice now I've been on television with our school. I must admit, though, I always tried to hide in the background!

Like music bean, a local kids show when I was a brownie scout...

Also in HS when I played basketball, clips of plays would end up on the news. Does that count?

Do sporting events count?? I was on TV when I was at a Cubs game and again when I was at a Blackhawks game! My dad was on the news last week, being interviewed about some government stuff, so that was exciting!

I was on a Cleveland Indians vs the Texas Rangers game several years ago
I am an indians fan because that's where I am from-- but they were playing here in Dallas--
so I made a HUGE sign that said "GO CLEVELAND!" and wore my indians stuff--yah,, that made me popular in the stadium-- and a sign that said "I Love the Indians!"
and had a seat over the dugout
and they had me on tv a few times....probably because i was the ONLY indians fan there
And my family, who was watching on tv up in Ohio, all got to see me

i was also interviewed at a craft faire last fall here in Texas but the interview was going to be on a very early morning talk show so i didn't get up to watch it, so i hope it turned out ok

Almost! But it ended up on the cutting room floor. I was an extra in the HBO movie Recount with Kevin Spacey. My friend and I had to cheer with others in a crowd in a scene where the character that played Al Gore pulls up to some political event. We were in the front of the crowd so we were hoping we'd get to see ourselves in it. Oh well, I guess I have to wait to get my star in Hollywood.

I have been on television for the parish where I work many times, as I am a choir director there. They video our productions usually about two or three times a year, and show it on tv all over the parish a few times that month, (and sometimes the following month). Also, I was on national TV for about 10 seconds (if that) when I went to New York City, and stood in the first row behind the barricades at the Today Show back in May 1998. My friend,(who also sang in college choir with me) (I was with my college choir on the trip...we performed at Lincoln Center, a hebrew piece, by a composer who was celebrating his piece, and asked us to debut it) who had 10 kids, had to stay at home (gee, I wonder why...), and he saw me on tv, and videotaped it for me.

I was 4 or 5 years old I was on the Bozo the Clown Show ( I think it taped in Chicago). When I was in H.S. my AP english class was on a pbs show. I believe it was about innovative new ways to teach (our teacher was awesome). I was on in bits and pieces throughout, but the clip of me reading my poem was the last minute of the whole show. Cool. Too bad I can't find the darn tape!

In the town I am teaching in now, they have the new hires go to the first board meeting of the year and get introduced to the community. My principle told me that day so I had to go. I was told all I would have to do would be to stand up and wave to everyone. When the time came for my introduction, I was asked to say a few words at the microphone. I was nervous, but I am a BIG talker so I figured it would be ok to talk about myself for a few minutes. When I got up to the microphone, I locked eyes with a TV camera. I froze like a deer in headlights. I could do nothing but nod my head and smile for what felt like an eternity. (It was actually only a few minutes) The head chairwoman had to keep asking me questions and all I could do was smile and nod like an idiot. The entire time, I'm screaming to myself "WAKE UP STUPID!! YOU LOOK LIKE A MORAN!!" When I could finally speak, the first thing I said was "This is going to be on TV, huh." I finally got myself together to wrap it up, but I was completly mortified and sooo embarrassed. What a great first impression I made!! I'm surprised they keep me around.

I was on Romper Room with Miss Virginia when I was in first or second grade. I got a cute b/w pic wearing my darling cat glasses and my bangs cut up high.

I was on the jumbo-tron at a KC Royals game with my kids singning a Garth Brooks tune and then on TV during the Mizzou Bowl game in San Antonio last year.

What a fun thread!

Once during high school right after Columbine. Our school had copycatters who roamed the halls in black trenchcoats and fake pipe bombs. Stupid idiots!
The news truck was looking for kids to talk to in the neighborhood so my friend and I were interviewed. I told the reporter that the kids were "stupid, just stupid!" hahha!

The next day everyone in school asked me..."Hey did you know you were on the news last night?"
DUUUHHHHH!

That would be too weird. I think I was with a brownie troop.

I didn't get chosen, but I do remember having my head bowed down (did they have a prayer of some kind?) And I didn't look up when they were done and one of the stage hands tapped me and plopped my head up. DUH!

How old are you? I'm 42.

Not on tv, but actually in the movie, "Forest Gump", along with about 250 sixth graders! We were in Washington D.C. on a field trip and went to the Lincoln Memorial. We had seen 60's type tents and people dressed in 60's style clothes, but didn't think much about it. We got to the Lincoln Memorial and there were people in black t-shirts with headsets swarming all around and they freaked out when all those kids and teachers began to walk around the memorial. So some guy came to us and said we could be in a movie that was being filmed right then, if we stayed inside the memorial. We did that and after they finished filming, the guy came over to us and had us go to the edge of the steps of the memorial and wave to a helicopter. It had Sally Field and Tom Hanks inside it! You can't seen even one of our toes in the movie, but the scene is there (for maybe 3 seconds!) That is my claim to fame! After they filmed, I asked one of the film crew about the movie and I remember thinking, "What a stupid name for a movie!" If only I had known.....

I am also 42. I remember my mom and my aunt brought my brother, my cousin, and me to tapings maybe 3 times over a couple of years. My sister had to stay home, she was a toddler, and I'm 4 years older than she is, so I was probably 6?

I don't remember having to bow our heads for anything, but do you remember how they chose the audience members to go up on stage? The random camera moving over the crowd, ugh, I remember that fear of being picked so well. I also remember the stage seemed really small and it was distracting to watch what was being taped while stuff was going on on other parts of the stage.

Both times I was on the news. The first time they showed scenes from my 8th grade graduation. There was a tornado that went through my town a couple weeks prior and we were still graduating in the gym even though it was missing a roof and two walls. (We had finished the school year in another building.) The second time was when I was in college. I was interviewed about merit pay. They also interviewed a friend who was with me. We were both on the news but they showed her name for me and vice versa.

Yes, Last year I was on News12 CT when they were interviewing people with what they were doing with their day off due to the major snow storm coming town fairfield county. I was out shopping. And when they found out I was a teacher they wanted me to predict if we would have school the next day due to the big storm that they had canceled school. Unfortunely we had school and no delay either but it was nice to have an extra day off for a snowstorm that never even came.

Senior pictures of me were on a local dentist commerical. It had been on for over a year before I got to see it. My family and friends from hs had seen it and had told me about it but somehow I kept missing it. Then one day I was walking through my college student union and there I was on the GIANT TV! I had just cut across the student union and came around the tv screen so I am walking right beside it when the commerical comes on with a close up of one of my pictures. EVERYONE was staring at me and someone yelled out Hey you're on tv. I was wanting to see the commerical soooo bad but I hated to turn around and just watch myself on tv while everyone could see me watching myself. Luckily, I did see it one other time. (When I was all alone.)

Lol, I was on the bozo show in Chicago too- I got to play the bucket game

Dh made us go see Jerry Springer once; we never watched it when it aired, but we ended up right in front of the stage.

I've been in and done voice work for a few commercials (and may start doing local news breaks) on a local channel.

I've also been in a few local news blurbs- walking in parades or whatnot. I think that's it. I don't need any more fame

Spanish Television Classroom

Clip to ScrapBook #40

When I was in fifth grade, a local TV station aired a Spanish lesson on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. They chose 3 students to be on every episode to be the studio class. I got to be on as one of the students. They did a closeup while the teacher asked your name in Spanish, and you had to answer "Me llamo _________ ", and turn to the person next to you and say, "Como te llamo?" Then you had to answer all her questions in Spanish. It was fun. I always felt lucky to be the one picked.
My husband was on "I've Got a Secret" with Gary Moore when he was about 5 years old. His family was on because they had a unique occupation.

Nobody else was on the Today show? We went to NYC and made a sign and were on it, but I never saw it b/c my BIL who taped it lost the tape before we got home. MIL saw it and said it was a "beautiful" shot of me. BTW I loved Katie Couric and Ann ? but was disappointed in Al Roker and Matt Lauer.

I was once in the audience at the Jenny Jones show. If you don't remember, it was the one either before or after Jerry Springer.

The topic was teen girls who wanted to grow up and be strippers or hookers! I asked a question, and it was cut from the show. I said something about them having more potential than that and that they should stay in school. I asked if there was anything else they would want to do. I asked the most intelligent question of the day and of course, it was cut during the editing!

I was in the audience and you could see that when the show aired.

I was on Family Feud for 3 shows. Missed the big money by 12 the first time and by 6 points the second time. Our family of 5 got about $6000.00 a piece and lots of Juicy Juice and Hamburger Helper! It was an awesome experience.

Bozo the Clown! My Dad worked in the set so we got to visit him at work. We were shown when I was scolding my little brother for not paying attention. I guess I was destined to be a teacher!

Who was the host when you were on Family Feud? That would be such a neat experience I bet!

Thanks to the OP for posting this--quite entertaining!

I was on the Bozo show too! Once I played a game when I was about 5 or 6. I went again in 3rd grade on a field trip. My friend got to play the bucket game.

I was on a local show when I was 5. My brother and I both had birthdays and marched around on stage following the host with the rest of the birthday kids. My best friend saw it on TV and ran to tell her mom. Her mom didn't believe her. We never got to see it, but that was the dinosaur days before VCRs or any of the current recording devices.

Then in college, I met Gloria Steinem and Geraldine Ferraro when Ferraro was the Dem VP candidate. We never saw it, but a few people said they saw me and my roomie on TV.

I was a cheerleader when my hometown won the Minnesota State High School Basketball Championship...still have the tape of my 80's bangs shown on that! Now this is nothing compared to all you lucky ducks that were on the BOZO SHOW!!! I am so envious! I remember watching all those kids doing the bucket game and just DREAMING of doing that myself. I tried to play "my version" of it with my sisters growing up...not nearly as cool.

He was from Cincinnati and wanted us to win so bad. He was even on the plane with us on the way back. They paid all our expenses, flew us to L.A. gave us a car to drive around in and spending money. I show the tape to my classes each year during Catholic Schools Week. They don't recognize me and when someone figures it out, they go nuts! It is fun
