Curious to see how many of you know what ASMR is, who gets tingles, etc. I don't get tingles but watching these videos helps me to relax before bed.
(YouTube has TONS of videos if you're unsure of what it is.)

My sister loves them, they’re like nails on a chalkboard to me! Makes me want to throw my phone across the room

I never heard of this (nonsense) until about the beginning of this year. A lot of people put food-eating ASMR vids online w/ the chewing, crunching, etc. sounds...does NOTHING for me AND neither do any of the ASMR things.

There is even a scalp-scratching video, I kept clicking on various parts of the video to see what was happening & I could never tell, but I'm not going to watch through a 24-min vid of that to see.

For those who like it, fine.

Never heard of it before, but I just checked out an eating one. Can’t do it! When I was teaching full time, the sound of kids munching in their snacks just drove me nuts!

I like the comedy ones... like the ones that Jeffery star did. Other than that .. doesn’t do anything for me.

Yes, I’m not a fan of “eating” videos either. There are tapping ones that relax me. Also whispered ones that are meant to calm you.

Check out GentleWhispering for interesting and relaxing videos. She’s been doing it over 7 years.

I first learned that the tingling sensation I'd experienced for years had a name here on PT several years ago. I do watch some of the videos, but many do nothing for me. The whispering, tapping, eating, and gum chewing are annoying to me. The ones that I enjoy are personal attention roleplays like medical procedures, sketching, and measuring. It's weird, but I find them very relaxing.

I've experienced the "tingling" for lack of a better word since I was a kid, but it usually can't be recreated through the videos. I do watch them though because I find them relaxing. I like the personal attention videos, spa videos, and there's an ice cream shop video I like.
