Has anyone had their students read this? I found a good Webquest on it and just wondering if anyone out there has done this story in class. I'm considering it for my high student...kinda sounds like a Narnia-type book, which he loves. Thanks

and did it with my high readers earlier in the year. It's not so much a Narnia book, but it does have Milo journeying through all these different lands before he can head home again. It's a wonderful play on words book - he has to rescue Rhyme and Reason so they can bring order back to the land so we talked about what rhyme and reason means and it's more than just the names of the two sisters. There's a Whether Man instead of the Weather Man because he does nothing but give choices. There's the Island of Conclusions and how he gets sidetracked there because he jumped to it. It's full of great stuff like that! I'd say the kids get about 80% of what makes it funny, but they enjoy it!

By the way, there is also an animated movie called, Phantom Tollbooth. I bought it a few years ago when I taught 6th grade. I think I bought mine on Ebay. The movie is old, but it's like the book....that I recall. Enjoy!
