You can't organize yourself until you know what your responsibilities are. I would start there. Then plan with a calendar. You could also speak to other grade levels' team leaders.

Leader responsibilities in one district do not always match the responsibilities of another.

I agree. You never know what is expected unless duties are told and of course it is all about how the admin feels. My first year at my current school, my team leader did not do much. She just oversaw the field trip, but we all helped get the field trip together. Since I have been team leader, I am way more hands on. This is only because I plan on being a principal one day soon. I send agendas weekly to my team and we plan every Thursday. I often research techniques and go to the admin for any questions or concerns we have. I also store all of the grade level materials in my room. Of course this means that you need to be organized, but I work in an organized mess!
Good luck! You will enjoy second grade and being a team leader!

5 years ago I was hired and immediately became the team leader. You will need to see what your sites expectations are first. I have team binder and each week I meet with me team. In the binder I have a collaboration form I use. I list who attended (sometimes we may meet with our librarian or reading/math specialist), what was discussed or what our focus was and then any questions we may have. Later I address our questions with the person that can answer them. As team leader in my school I am also on our lead data team. This means we meet and discuss our site plan and prepare it then present it to our district. Best of luck!
