What are Doodle Notes besides coloring pages where you take notes? I kind of don't get the appeal. Is there any benefit to coloring?? I understand drawing your own sketches but not coloring pages for upper elementary.

I checked out the site. To me, it looks like they take current research and go overboard with "supporting" students. These "notes" look more like what you said- coloring pages.

I'm teaching my students sketchnoting techniques this year using Doug Neill's Sketchnoting for the Classroom course. I made a notebook for them using a combination of his course materials and my own pages. The "I can't draw" kids are, of course, resistant. Others are pretty excited.

The hard part is going to be transferring the skill to actual critical thinking and useful notes.
