Clip to ScrapBook #1

I'm working on an application and it has two questions on (it says to have concise answers) :

How would you address a wide range of skills and abilities in your classroom?

Describe the skills or attributes you believe are necessary to be an outstanding teacher.

For the first question I plan to talk about RW and WW(Without using the buzzword) So far I plan on mentioning:
differentiating lessons to meet the needs of all students

students read self selected books that are at their instructional/independent level (write about self selected topics)

use whole group, small group, and individual conferences to meet the needs of all students (reading and writing)

Using many forms of assessments to establish what each learner needs and how to meet those needs

What other keys points am I missing?!?! I'm struggling with math!

I have a good list of attributes going-but would love to hear your ideas too!

What about adding something around being a life long learner.
Growing professionally-
Using best teaching practices of collaborating with others both at grade level and across grade levels
Reflection on lessons taught- self evaluating
Maintain a student centered classroom- which includes what you mentioned in your post
Focus on Higher order thinking rather than low level knowledge

In Math- teach problem solving strategies, connect it with the reading workshop strategies

The first question you have answered in your last three (orange) bullet points. You can also teach math in whole group, small group and conferences.

Hope this helps.
