6th grade graduation

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi!~ I just finished my final PT conferences and so now I am thinking about the culminating event. We have a 6th grade "graduation" at the end of the year. This year I would like to give each student an "award". Something funny and individualistic. My problem is I can't think of a lot of ideas for awards. I am planning on taking a picture of each child and then making an "Obama" type poster for each of them with the award title on the bottom of the poster. Does anyone have any ideas for awards? Thanks

You cound tape a candy bar to the back of each award and give them a funny award, I did this last year and they liked it. Look on-line for candy bar award ideas...
Example: Kit-kat for class pet, gummy worms for most active (wiggly), ect...

When presenting the award, withhold the name of the recipient. Tell what the award it, for example say, "this person likes rap music, so they get the M&M award" and have the students guess who it is, they have GREAT fun with it.

throughout the year we write down funny things kids say/do so in may we have the list prepared for our 6th grade promotion ceremony.

this year i have a kid that will receive "goofiest questions" (always asking things like, is it okay to eat paper?)

one will receive the "stripeless tiger" award (was sharing a pourquoi book with us on how the tiger got its stripes and he noticed his picture didn't have stripes and announced, as he was reading, "aw, crud! i forgot the stripes!"

Remember to keep awards positive. Regarding the candy one... I almost gave a "now and later" candy to the student who was always late, but that felt just wrong~so I didnt do it...
Have fun.
