Just curious, when do the teachers get to know who is subbing for them, a week ahead or month ahead ? when do the secretaries get know?

Iím a teacher and if I call in sick for a one day time period, I can request someone. If they are booked, someone random will show up.
For meetings that are scheduled in advance, I can know who took the job well ahead of time by looking it up in the system we use.
My long term subs that I have had twice were both student teachers in the district and I knew about three days in advance. Iím guessing the secretaries knew shortly before me.

I can log into our electronic system and see who (if anyone) has picked up the job. I assume it shows up as soon as the job is accepted, but I don't get an email notification about it.

With Aesop that info is available as soon as the sub accepts the job.

I never know for sure until someone shows up in my room. Even if I request someone, that person might not be the one I get.

I was just out for a few days. The person who had said they would sub was not there the entire time. I wouldnít know if a friend had not told me.

I have posted this before but here goes. I once accepted a sub job for an elementary position on Jobulator early in the morning. I reset my alarm to get up in time and as I was falling back asleep, my phone rang. It was the regular teacher for the job I had just accepted. She wanted to give me lesson plans.

As soon as you accept a job, an email is sent to the teacher saying your request is filled and it lists the name of the sub.

The minute a sub is officially assigned to your absence, you both (the sub and the teacher) get an email about it (on Aesop anyway)
