We are doing door decorations as one of our activities for March is Reading Month. Our theme is space. We can choose books on space, books that are out of this world, etc. Our judges encourage our kids to help design the door. They are looking for connections with the book and deeper thinking. In other words, the kids can't redraw the cover or characters. If you have any ideas I would appreciate it. I am at a loss! I was thinking about using Skippyjon Jones Lost in Spice, but not sure how I would get the kids to go deeper. Thanks for your help!

They are second grade. I have 27 darling kids.

"The Magic School Bus: Lost In the Solar System" is a great book with lots of information and the kids could design planets, constellations, etc.
