Planning a composition

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hello all!
I am a fourth grade teacher, last year was actually my first year in fourth after teaching kindergarten for 3 years. By far, writing instruction is the most complex thing.

I was wondering if any of you had a tried and true planning graphic organizer or system that worked for your kids to plan for their expository or narrative papers.

I am particularly curious about how you teach expository writing. In Texas, they will begin testing that kind of writing. What lessons do you teach? What format do you use? what are some important things to point out? what are some examples of prompts for expository?

Thank you in advance for your help! I love this board!
