Writer's Workshop Question - Need your Creative Minds!

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I have taught Writer's Workshop for the last 7 years, however, I've only ever used a Writer's Notebook with the students. Due to the fact that this year our school is having us use the Reading Street writing program, I want to have a separate composition book for their lessons and Reading Street writing and then they'll still have their Writer's Notebook where they can "own" their writing. I know some people have done this before, but I'm unsure of what to call this second more "formal" composition book. I want to have a different name for it to try not to confuse the kids when I say "Get out your __________".

Thanks!

My students have a Writer's Notebook to gather ideas, and they also have their Writing Binder to organize materials and drafts.

We have something similar. My students have a writers notebook for mini-lesson practices, resources, brainstorming, etc. They have a binder which they have looseleaf paper in for drafts and when we type and/or "finish" a piece by writing it nicely on computer paper or special paper, that goes in there too. This is their writing portfolio. They quickly learn the difference, as portfolio sounds so much more "professional" to them.

Since it is more about "their" writing; how about calling it their manuscripts?
